Neo-Baroque on the Mind

From what I've gathered about the Baroque era, exuberance is key. The style of exaggerated art and architecture that began in Rome is definitely in effect in the modern world. The World Trade Center Memorial is a magnificent sculpture to commemorate a noble cause, however, it comes at a ridiculous price. The twin fountains are estimated to be around $700 million, at an annual cost of $60 million. The memorial does not anticipate revenue to compensate for the cost. The structures are enormous in size and are undoubtably extravagant in design, which to my understanding are telltale signs of a Neo-Baroque piece.
